In September, Delta Live was proud to support B&Q with full technical production for an exclusive evening event hosted at the iconic Temperate House and Nash Conservatory within Kew Gardens.
Set against the stunning botanical backdrop, the evening was designed as a two-part experience, transitioning guests from a refined reception to an immersive dinner setting each space enhanced through carefully curated audio and lighting production.
Reception at the Nash Conservatory
The evening began in the elegant Nash Conservatory, where guests were welcomed with a drinks reception accompanied by a live string quartet. Delta Live provided audio and lighting production, ensuring pristine sound quality for speeches while complementing the natural beauty of the glasshouse environment.
Subtle, sympathetic lighting enhanced the architectural features of the conservatory, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere without detracting from the historic surroundings.
Dinner & Entertainment in the Temperate House
Guests were then transported via the Kew explorer to the magnificent Temperate House for dinner and evening entertainment. Here, Delta Live delivered a comprehensive technical package including audio, lighting, staging, screen provision for the table plan, and bar & branding production support.
A key visual highlight was the transformation of the space through lighting design. The ceiling was washed in B&Q’s signature brand colours, creating a striking canopy of colour above the dining area. Pattern wash lighting was introduced along the dining walkways, adding texture and depth while subtly guiding guest movement through the space.
Externally, the Temperate House was illuminated to enhance its architectural presence as night fell, ensuring the venue made a powerful visual statement both inside and out.
To elevate the guest arrival experience, we created a dramatic “red carpet effect” along the steps leading into the venue, reimagined in B&Q’s distinctive orange brand colour. This bold lighting treatment provided a memorable and on-brand entrance moment.
Within the main space, profile lighting was carefully focused on the stage, bar, and entertainment acts, ensuring the pianist and electric duo were showcased with clarity and impact throughout the evening.
A Cohesive Branded Experience
From refined reception ambience to high-impact dining production, the technical design was carefully tailored to reflect B&Q’s brand identity while respecting the heritage setting of Kew Gardens. The result was a seamless, visually striking event that balanced corporate elegance with immersive entertainment.
Delta Live was delighted to collaborate on such a prestigious event, delivering technical excellence across two unique spaces within one of London’s most iconic venues.
